Description: The Yamaha 33 is a comfortable, fast and seaworthy cruising yacht. They were way ahead of their time in design and appointments and the quality of the build is excellent. Miss Piggy is very easy to sail and has a good ballast ratio making it very seaworthy and comfortable. The engine is low hours and looks like new, the sails are good, the rigging new and the electronics modern.
The interior is very spacious for a yacht of this size. There is good headroom and the tempered glass windows provide excellent panoramic views and flood the interior with natural light. She is very functional and comfortable and features two long settees that both make great sea berths, a double quarter berth and a double v berth. The dining table is removable and stows out of the way on the forward bulkhead. The head is private and has a hot and cold shower. There is a full size nav station with a cleverly designed seat that provides great support on either tack.
The galley has smart design features that maximise bench space, including a cover for the twin stainless sinks, a fold down cupboard door and a sliding stove top cover. The Origo 6000 stove and oven is top quality and is spirit fuelled. The refrigeration was upgraded in 2020 to an 12v Isotherm system which is both large and efficient.
The electronics package is both modern and extensive. The Raymarine chart plotter can be positioned inside for security, or in the cockpit. There is a wi fi AIS transponder as well as a Standard Horizon VHF with a built in AIS receiver. The Raymarine autopilot and instruments were all new in 2016 and the whole electronics package is networked through a NMEA 2000 Seatalk backbone.
Power is well provided for with a total of 100W of solar panels on the bimini.
The cockpit is well designed for shorthanded sailing, with the primary winches in easy reach from the tiller. The tiller can be folded out of the way to create more usable space when not sailing. There is also a custom made swim/boarding platform with a ladder, a bimini and a quality pair of dinghy davits.
'Miss Piggy' has been extremely well setup as a cruising yacht and has an excellent inventory of top-quality cruising gear. The previous owner purchased Miss Piggy only a few months ago and has installed a new hotwater system, 240v shorepower, new standing and running rigging, new antifouling and propspeed, new hot & cold water pressure system, mixer taps in the galley and she was recently re-registered to April 2024.
