Description: The Radford 10.6 is a fast cruiser racer. Early versions were built in aluminium while recent hulls, including Wave Dancer have been built in Fibreglass with a foam sandwich hull and balsa sandwich deck.
She is easily sailed by two. The keel is a 1 tonne lead bulb on a fabricated stainless steel fin and has a spade rudder with tiller steering. The mast is a Selden 7/8 fractional aluminium double spreader with end boom sheeting and adjustable backstay. Sails are Spectra and in excellent condition.
Wave Dancer was prepared for category 2 racing in Sydney but was only raced on Sydney Harbour before being brought over to the West in 2010 due to work commitments. Since then, the yacht has been only lightly used for day sailing.
Wave Dancer was built by Shekinad Boat works at Taree, NSW. The Volvo engine and sail drive, hatches and cabin ports were installed by the builder. The keel was fabricated by Goninan of NSW who also cast the lead bulb. All critical welds were X-rayed after completion. Keel installation was by the builder in Taree.
The timber interior is in Southern Myrtle and was imported into Australia by Caporn timbers, NSW in veneer and solid timber sections. The interior fit out was carried out by D & R Shipwrights of Rushcutters Bay, Sydney at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
Electrical work was by Anderson Marine at RPYC, Mona Vale, NSW. Rigging was by Riggtech Pty Ltd of Sydney. Seldon spars were provided by Allspar, QLD. Deck fittings were supplied as boat lot by Harken to a layout provided by the designer.
The boat includes a complete set of plans, specifications and equipment manuals.
Wane Dancer is in excellent condition.
