Description:

Cadence is a Beneteau 50 that has made her way to Western Australia from the USA by way of New Zealand which says something about a tried and tested boat design proven over thousands of miles. Designed by Bruce Farr her fast hull has balanced lines offering outstanding directional control and sea keeping ability. She has a genoa on a furler, a fully battened mainsail with lazy-jacks and a staysail on an inner forestay. Her large primary winches can be reached from the helm and the mainsheet is forward of the cockpit out of harm's way. She can be comfortably sailed by a crew of two but offers generous accommodation for six or more. This is the shallow draft (1.85m) version which offers improved destination flexibility without compromising performance.
The huge cockpit has been upgraded with a custom designed aluminium bimini combining great protection with good visibility. Her twin wheels allow easy access to the bathing platform and the cockpit table is large enough for the whole crew to enjoy eating outdoors together. Storage is never an issue on Cadence with deep cockpit lockers and a forward locker so big that on the charter version it offers crew quarters for two!
Down below the woodwork is simply stunning. She was built before Beneteau discovered cost control and cheap veneer. This is the sought after owners version with a huge master cabin forward offering a double berth to port, a sofa and vanity to starboard and an oversized en-suite. Both aft cabins offer substantial double berths with their own en-suite head with shower. The saloon has a full sized navigation station, a large galley with deep refrigerators and seating for 8-10. A central island provides additional galley working area and storage. The navigation station has all the control systems, electrical panel, VHF etc. The batteries have been upgraded and good sized solar panels keep the charge coming.
Cadence has just undergone a substantial re-fit which means she is ready to head off once again. The existing Raymarine instruments and self-steering have been upgraded (July 2020) with the installation of new wind gear and a B&G Zeus II chart plotter mounted in the cockpit. The standing rigging has been completely replaced (July 2020) by Stephen Locke and the team at Boating Hardware. Every through-hull fitting and hose has been replaced by Bruce Diggins at Albatross Marine who also faired back the hull below the waterline and re-painted with International Micron AP (June 2020). The prop is looking shiny with a new coat of Propspeed. Albatross also polished the topsides and brightwork. At the front end the anchor chain (60m 14mm) and swivel are brand new and down the back a new 2.5m RIB from Westcoast Inflatables (November 2019) hangs in the davits. Her powerful 85 HP Perkins has been worked over by Nugget and boys at RMR Diesel (June 2020). Full service with new filters, impeller, anode, hoses, and exhaust. Andrew Harry, at Sailmakers WA, has recently serviced the sails and built a new sail bag and cockpit dodger (June 2020).
If you are looking for a comfortable blue water cruiser to escape this virus or the next then she ticks all the boxes but equally if what you want is a platform for social sailing or just a marine liveaboard apartment then all those boxes are ticked too.
An outstanding luxury blue water yacht at an equally outstanding price
